Nice design, great coloring and cool idea! What made you come up with this strange mix???Hans
This seems like something I saw on the AndrewAndDavid blog ... When I was teaching at the Art Institute of California, San Diego, campus we had a project for intermediate students where they selected Animal A and Animal B from two paper bags and then had to make an aminal with 3DS Max that combined attributes of each. They also had to make an environment for their animal to be in, and write a paragraph about how the animal's origins. The project was fun and everyone got to learn a lot! Some of the results were startling, to say the least.
In regards to these particular "pandguins," I say very noble efforts. My favorite is the rightmost because he can be pushed further quicker to the next level ... On pure facial expression, actually, the center character wins, but I'm not sold on the Superman bib (LOVE the swim fins, though)... If I were going for that next level, I'd take the rightmost candidate and go, well, sort of full on Doug TenNapel with it ... http://www.popimage.com/content/images/flight/tennapelsample.jpgThis isn't the BEST example of what I mean, but enhancing the cartooniness of the creature by varying the eye size (on purpose) and adding a goofy hat, or some sort of hand held object (uzi, hoe, uzi-hoe ...) might be fun. This is my take.
V NEAT characters!! Love the half panda idea!
you've got nice work too, chris.keep posting more often.

Thanks everyone! Much appreciated.Chriswab - danke und viele Grüße zu Ihnen zurück!
man this stuff is great. This is my first visit to your site. Great stuff.
This is really great stuff. Can't wait to see more. I really love the figure drawings!!!
Hehehe, now you're getting into something I'm quite interested: Fantasy/cartoon-style artwork. With the exception of the webbed feet, the Pandguin looks like the Polar bear from Disney's "Bolto".
